Retinal Imaging: Past, Present, and Future

This course will discuss the origins of retinal photography in order to better understand the new modalities of retinal imagining and their purpose in today's ophthalmic practice.

Learning Objectives:
  • Describe the mechanisms of Fluorescein Angiography (FA), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography (OCTA) in order to accurately describe the procedure to patients.
  • Discuss diagnostic indications of FA, OCT and OCTA in order to help the patient make an informed decision about their care.
  • Compare and contrast differences between these tests and how they are used so they may be able to answer patient’s questions accurately concerning their plan of care.
