The Wild and Wacky World of Neuro-Ophthalmology

Neuro-ophthalmology is a subspecialty of ophthalmology that concentrates on neurological diseases of the afferent and efferent visual pathways. In addition to neurological diseases, neuro-ophthlamology also involves systemic and ocular diseases. Neuro-ophthalmologists are often faced with perplexing and unusual clinical and radiological manifestations of a multitude of diseases. This course is designed to illustrate in a pictorial essay format the diverse nature of neuro-ophthlamology.

  • Determine the various patterns of eye movement abnormalities
  • List the causes of an orbital mass
  • Understand intracranial aneurysms
