Course Description:

Blue light is a term used to describe the highest energy portion of the visible light spectrum. Historically our exposure to blue light was exclusively from sunlight. Over the last decade our exposure to blue light from artificial sources has increased significantly due to the proliferation of LED backlit devices and the mandated shift to energy efficient LED and CFL lighting.


Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify what blue light is and its effect on people.
  2. Discussion of current changing energy efficiency options.
