Course Description:

The obesity epidemic in western countries has countless effects on the delivery of healthcare. The effects are felt not just in general medicine, but in ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. This course will discuss the different ways in which obesity affects the care of patients with oculoplastic surgery related issues.


Learning Objectives:
  1. List the ways in which obesity affects pre-, intra-, and post-operative care in oculoplastic surgery.
  2. Recite the different conditions associated with obesity that are seen by the oculoplastic surgeon.
