Course Description:

Patient outcome is paramount in the field of ophthalmology. No matter how diligent, there are times infection will rear its ugly head. This course will cover root cause analysis and actions necessary in the prevention of infections, especially in the ophthalmic ambulatory surgery center (ASC).


Learning Objectives:
  1. Define the difference between endophthalmitis and toxic anterior segment syndrome (TASS).
  2. Identify two steps in investigating infections in ophthalmology.
