Course Description:


Access to each webinar recording will be available starting at approximately 7:30 p.m. Central Time, on each of the four dates below. Access to the webinar recordings and quizzes will end at 11:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, September 3.


August 6 Dry Eye and Ocular Surface Disease: The Oculoplastic Surgeon's Perspective This course will review abnormalities of eyelid structure and function that contribute to dry eye disease including lagophthalmos, ectropion, incomplete blink, and laxity. Treatment options to improve these conditions will be discussed as well.

August 13 Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus and Ocular Herpes Simplex Participants will understand how to identify and distinguish between Ocular Herpes Simplex and Varicella Zoster Ophthalmicus. They will become familiar with treatment modalities for each condition.

August 20 Achromatopsia: Fifty Shades of Grey This lecture describes the rare condition of complete lack of color perception. It will include material about the role of AOP in the various tests and history-taking questions as well as imaging that is done with patients who have, or are suspected of having, the condition.

August 27 Scribing in Ophthalmology The rules associated with scribing in ophthalmology, along with what has changed since electronic health records are used, will be discussed. Tips to help those who take on this responsibility will be offered.
