Course Description:

This series of four webinars, presented by Craig Simms, BSc, COMT, CDOS, ROUB, will focus on retinal imaging. The series will provide an overview of ophthalmic photography and imaging, including relevant processes, differences between modalities, and tips and tricks to obtain better images. The series will also cover retinal vascular disease and common findings in photographs and images.
Access to each webinar recording will be available starting at approximately 7:30 p.m. Central Time, on each of the four dates below. Access to the webinar recordings and quizzes will end at 11:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, May 22nd.

April 17 Basic Fundus Photography
Basic Fundus Photography will serve as a beginning point for the ophthalmic technician who is venturing into the field of ophthalmic photography. Starting from the basics, this course will review basic anatomy of the eye, define a fundus camera, discus the fundamental differences between mydriatic and non-mydriatic cameras, and close out with how to perform fundus photography, from patient preparation through taking the photos through to managing the photographs.
May 1 Fluorescein Angiography This course will discuss the basics of fluorescein angiography starting with luminescence and fluorescence and how it can be used in the eye. The process of the fluorescein angiogram process will be covered including the dosage, injection, and possible adverse reactions from the injection. The fluorescein angiogram sequencing and steps for completing the photography side of the procedure. The course will finish with the phases of the angiogram and descriptive terminology used to describe fluorescein angiography photographs.
May 8 Advanced Retinal Imaging Techniques Advanced retinal imaging techniques is a continuation of basic retinal photography. This course will cover advanced techniques including stereo retinal photography, standardized diabetic retinal field photography, peripheral wide field photography, fundus auto fluorescence, and indocyanine green angiography. The process of each technique and the photographic result will be described with examples.
May 15 Imaging in Retinal Vascular Disease This course will cover imaging techniques specific to retinal vascular disease. The imaging techniques discussed include fundus biomicroscopy, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography, and indocyanine green. The discussion will be focused on how these techniques are used in the imaging of retinal vascular disease. Examples of features of retinal vascular disease as imaged by the described imaging techniques will be shown.

After each broadcast, webinar access will continue until May 22, 2018. Purchase this webinar series and earn 4 IJCAHPO Group A credits for $55. Individual webinar access (worth 1 IJCAHPO Group A credit) can also be purchased for $18.
