Medical Terminology 101

This course is designed to introduce you to basic medical terminology. The course is divided into three sections.

The Introduction section will instruct you in the use of medical terminology, as well as its history, general principles, and categories. Part 1 focuses on medical terminology foundation and word elements, while Part 2 covers medical terms of the eye, as well as common ophthalmic terms, diseases, and disorders.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to identify word roots, prefixes, suffixes; spell and pronounce medical terms correctly; demonstrate correct usage and joining word parts to write medical terms; write eponyms, acronyms, and abbreviations; and identify the meanings of medical words and parts.
