Achieving Quality and Profitability by Maximizing Clinical Efficiency

This intermediate-level course will provide tips for resolving the seeming incongruity between quality and profitable patient care. The efficient use and design of clinical resources and schedule templates will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on maximizing the value of ophthalmic medical personnel and incorporating physical plant design features for a more comfortable and time-conscious patient experience. The cost effectiveness of certification will be addressed using clinical data. The synergistic relationship between the technical and physician components of a patient encounter will be presented from a physician and coding perspective. Reimbursement trends will be presented.
