Approach to the Patient with Diplopia

A systematic approach to the patient with diplopia will be presented. Case presentations will be used to highlight associated symptoms and signs relevant to the differential diagnosis. Video examples of myasthenia gravis, ocular motor cranial nerve palsies, Graves' disease, and internuclear ophthalmoplegia will be shown.

  1. List the symptoms relevant to the differential diagnosis of diplopia
  2. State the importance of comitant vs. incomitant misalignments
  3. Describe the patterns of ocular misalignment present in common causes of diplopia

You would likely need to be a neurosurgeon or neuro ophthalmologist to benefit from this lecture. I'm not convinced most physicians would even be able to follow along, unless they are recent medical school graduates.
