Low Vision Rehabilitation: What's It All About?

This course will provide an overview of low vision rehabilitation (LVR), the only non-surgical treatment currently available for people with age-related vision loss. LVR is a treatment modality intended to maximize the use of residual vision. This course will discuss the common causes of vision loss and their effect on visual functioning. The advantages and disadvantages of the various optical, non-optical and electronic magnification devices will be reviewed. In addition, sighted guide techniques will be presented.
