Course Description:

This course will discuss important concepts in readiness to help the surgeon during complications of cataract surgery. Participants will have a better understanding of the signs of vitreous loss, the tools needed and the timing for safe and efficient anterior vitrectomy both by anterior incisions and via one port pars plana vitrectomy for the anterior segment surgeon. Readiness and an understanding of machine settings will be discussed.


Learning Objectives:
  1. Recognize the onset of complications.
  2. Be prepared with the tools and medications to deal with complications.
  3. Understand the logic for machine settings which avoid intraoperative and postoperative vitreous traction.
