Course Description:

Infection prevention and control (IPC) may not always be top of mind in your busy ophthalmic clinic, until a patient presents with a potentially infectious condition, that is! Instead of responding to these situations reactively, ophthalmic personnel can be proactively aware of and engaged in the IPC program. IPC is a shared responsibility that requires both education and training.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe infectious conditions commonly seen in the ophthalmic clinic setting.
  2. Use best practices in IPC to prevent and control the spread of infectious disease.
  3. Design an IPC Program, including staff education and training components.
