This course will demonstrate the newly approved FDA approved laser vision correction procedure, SMILE, from a technician's point of view and compare and contrast with other femtosecond technology. It will also inform technicians on how to best educate patients and how to communicate clear expectations during post-operative recovery.

1. Introduce the technology of small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE).
2. Pre-operative assessment and testing as done by the technician for SMILE.
3. Compare and contrast other femtosecond platforms for refractive surgery.
4. Educating your patient on options in refractive surgery and setting expectations for post-operative recovery.
