Course Description:

A discussion that covers the use of soft, corneal GP and scleral contact lenses for medical purposes. Discussion includes corneal ectasias, ocular surface disease, corneal degenerations, exposure keratopathy, distichiasis, graft vs. host disease, limbal stem cell deficiencies and how medically necessary contact lenses can be used to manage these disorders.


Learning Objectives:
  1. List the different types of contact lenses used to manage ocular disease.
  2. Identify common medical diagnoses that can be managed with contact lenses.
  3. Consider medically necessary contact lenses as an option to surgery.
