Course Description:

This course will discuss the importance of explicitly obtaining the patient's objective or goal for surgery and ensuring they match the information discussed during the informed consent process.


Learning Objectives:
  1. Evaluate the learner's knowledge of demanding patient behavior and the risk to patient safety and liability risk to the learner (physician and practice entity).
  2. Discuss the learner's knowledge of risk management steps that can be taken to maintain or improve upon patient safety and to mitigate liability risks.
  3. Discuss additional resources available to the learner to address demanding patient issues.
