March 5 Documentation and Billing for Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tests
As a general rule, there is one diagnostic test associated with every eye exam performed on Medicare beneficiaries. This course will discuss the billing rules associated with diagnostic services and ideas to help ensure proper chart documentation, current coding and timely notes.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify common billing rules related to test.
  2. Clarify confusion regarding coverage for refractions.
  3. Discuss the importance of proper documentation.

March 12 DISATER STRIKES! Prepare, Respond, Then Face the Music Is your office prepared if a disaster hits? Does your staff know what to do? Where to go? How to respond? This course will ensure your ophthalmic practice staff are ready to respond to almost any emergency and will describe the organizations available to help get you prepared and how to prepare the office equipment and unstable medications for any impending power outages or environmental changes from flood, fire, wind, etc.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe how to prepare sensitive office equipment and unstable medications for imminent power failure due to storm.
  2. Ensure your ophthalmic practice staff are ready to respond to emergencies.
  3. List organizations that assist with disaster preparedness and response.

March 19 Navigating Difficult Patient Interactions This course is aimed to provide tools and techniques to help technicians navigate difficult patient interactions, improve communications with patients and help provide an excellent customer service experience.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Discuss techniques to help navigate difficult patient interactions.
  2. Define ways to improve patient communications.

March 26 Acute Vision Loss This course will provide attendees with a detailed approach to patient care with acute vision loss.

  2. Define what acute vision loss is.
