July 2 The Why, What, and How of the Most Commonly Used Billing Modifiers in Ophthalmology
This course will help Ophthalmic technicians understand why billing modifiers are important, what they are, and how to use them.
July 9 B-Scan Fundamentals: A Beginner's Guide This is a beginner's level course to introduce the student to the principles of ultrasound and 3 basic probe positions.
July 16 Great Expectations: Liability Risks of Unrealistic Surgical Goals This course will discuss the importance of explicitly obtaining the patient's objective or goal for surgery and ensuring they match the information discussed during the informed consent process.
July 23 Slit Lamp Examination Building an efficient, successful ophthalmic technical team is similar to running a factory assembly line. All units need to work together seamlessly in order to produce a superior product. This course is targeted to allied health personnel (front desk and technicians) who need to develop a general awareness of Lean Six Sigma clinical efficiency, concepts and techniques.
